Btw I've just found another reason to be against religion...Jahova's Witnesses... They can be so freaking annoying, I had a mother and daughter come to my door this morning whilst hanging with my sister and mate. We we're just playing some video games when they came knocking at the door. I opened the door and looked at them quizically. They said they were Jahova's Witnesses straight away. I simply said no thank you and closed the door. Now I can't really blame them for standing under shelter when it was windy and rainy as heck but when they knocked on the door again to try their luck...I said no and locked it. I also stared at them till they went away. so, you complain about how they come to your door, and try to tell you about their religion? lets take a look at the education system you go to class, and they force you to learn about evolution, and the big bang theory. at least Jehovah's witnesses don't force you to convert or anything... just be glad you don't live in medieval times, or you would be forced to be a Christian or die by sword more about education and religion you go to college/university they completely center out and individualize a person, because they are Christian. also, saying that religion is stupid because of jahova's witnesses is like saying this BLT is gross, because it has mayonaise on it. just ignore it... and eat the sammich cause all you're after is the bacon besides, they are a separate religion, they do not represent everyone.

Ratminer: "Stupid" is your word not mine. It is only ONE of the reasons I'm against religion...it's darn annoying....and we learn nothing of the big bang or the creation of life in school. I refuse to believe that either. I think everything just was. And as for the BLT...I'm in it for everything ;D

The big bang "theory" is a widely regarded fact...
At your schools, you say that they force you to learn about that? Well, one, they are teaching you about sciece, rather than ideas about invisable people in the sky, who command everything and are all powerful, yet they let people die in horrible ways, and stories of ancient times, where there was a man who died, repeat: DIED, and then came back to life. There is also so many other things i could say, but tbh, it's all a load of hogwash....
Two, our school forces us to learn about religions, which i really want to do, i want to learn about thier history, beliefs, etc.. But when i joined the school, they said that they wouldn't force any one religion onto us. However, once every 3 weeks, there is a christian minister in to assembly, who tells stories (all of them total BS...), sings songs (seems good, but is, infact, a popular method of getting someone thinking ur way, brainwashing, if u prefer....), and just generally try to convert a 90+% aethiest school. When we next get him in, i will actually go to the head teacher and ask that it ends....either all beliefs or no beliefs, and that includes the belief of aethiesm, we deserve to have an aethiest spokesperson.......
Three, in my mind all schools should teach about the Big Bang theory, given that it is so much more true than Creationism....
Tl;dr Big bang=true Myths=not true

There is one thing I've come to learn living in the Bible Belt of the United States; People could care less what you think. To survive in the world you must aim to please, even if that means putting on a ruse of belief even for a moment. One time me and my friend were eating at this buffet place waiting for his our female-gender friend to arrive. I dunno if it seemed we were gaying up the place cause we were laughing and smiling like idiots at each other (like best friend since elementary, he's practically a brother to me) but this lady comes up and asks if she can pray for us. Friend gave me this "isshecraptingus?" look but I simply smiled and said that it would be fine. She patted me on the back and was all "may god bless you" or something like that. Friend was pissed the fawk off cause we actually have some friends that are // and stuff, and we defend them with words and fists. Sometimes you just have to be the better man and speak what the other person wants to hear.
But should the fact be that I'm wrong and there is a caring god and stuff, I'm at least glad SOMEBODY decided to give their two cents for me, cause I know I'm not gonna anytime soon. Just to be safe and all :/ I'm not gonna stand firm to anything, if a fish jumps out of the river and tells me he's Cthulu then by all means I WILL BELIEVE THAT FISH

@fusion
Good job that my school is called a "science collage" then. We have R.E Like, once every other week xD SO we learn nothing about religion, and hell of alot about science.

@koi, darn bro i understand that, similar thing happened to me once. They said "God doesn't look kindly upon gays", and because i stand up for everyone, and have a few gay friends, despite me being straight i said, "well, for one, he doesnt sound like a very nice god. And for two, what if i am gay?" xD the guy just stared blankly Jerez, dont apologize bro, this thread was created to voice the peoples opinions ^^

Unique views are important, they define who we are. What exactly are ur beliefs, btw?
If ppl are hurt by ur views, it is their own fault.

My views. I don't have views...If I'd die if I didn't choose a religion the one I'd be most into would be the Ancient Greek's. I love stories about the Greek Gods and Titans...the mighty clash of the cliché good and evil. Yet the twists and powers and control of each almighty individual makes it so far from cliché. It is by far the most fascinating thing I've discovered in a long time.

I'd chose between Ancient Greek, Egyptian, or Norse xD all of them are epic ^^ so many great tales, all of which teach some life lessons....

People use religion and myths to explain things they can't explain themselves. There probably is a real explanation for everything, we just haven't found it yet XD
