Hey Bud, I just got an email from Sony saying it is a possibility that the hacker group that hacked PSN has my Name, address, email, etc. I was just wondering if you had the same email probably meaning they've sent it to all PSN users. If not I have reason to be worried and take further action. -Jerez

thats not good dude...i just checked mine andd i did get an email from playstation, but it was only a constumer survey thing..ive had no message saying any of that stuff, but the but the best thing u can do, is remove the internet connection from your PS3 temporarrily.....when i first heard of the attack, the first thing i did was unplug my Ethernet cable, and i deleted my Wi-Fi information, so that the hackers would have no way into my PS3 (i suggest you do the same) but seriously dude. im sorry..how much money did u have on your account?

Hmmm, i'll check too, but theoretically, the hacker(s) are able to have complete access to all users, they have usernames and PSN passwords, email addresses, billing addresses, phone numbers, and credit card details (if u used any cards) =/ my advice would be the exact same as Fishehs, also change ur password ASAP, and Sony have warned everyone to be wary of email/phone/billing scams. Sony will NEVER ask for a password, or anything, via email....
Ohh....did that email u got look 100% official...? Also, did they ask for any passwords/personal information? We all need to be wary of things like that...as soon as possible, i'm changing my user email address...

They've gotten into the play station network which is how all PS3 users play online together. They have now been able to aquire anyone's details that they entered into their account. And yes you guys it was a legitimate email. It's kind of ok cause they sent it to the email address I set up for my "Older brother" who's not really real...so identity theft probably not a problem. I can't get into my other emails :/

Ohyus xD So you've all seen it then Btw guys I've been discussing this with my rather knowledgable father and it seems the hacker group "Anonymous" have done this as a "it could be done" scheme, they've done this sort of thing in the past, and are employed to do so to prove that it can be done and what companies need to get their crap together. There is a great chance of this being the case so yeah

No. Do not blame Anonymous. This was not them. I stand by those hacktivists strongly, they fight for freedom of speech throughout the world. This was not of their doing, they even released a statement on it. Sony did mildly try to blame them, mostly because they have managed it before, and they are a well known organization. They would be much too busy with other operations, like Operation Freedom, and stuff in the middle east.
This was not Anonymous.
Of course, it doesnt mean one of their number wasnt working independantly...

I wouldn't rule Anon out completely. They're not the most organized group, anyway. A quick Google search reveals that they were indeed pissed at Sony. ohinternet.com/Anonymous_vs._Sony
